Contemplating a new primary desktop build

As my current desktop is nearly 3 years of age, I'm contemplating building a new desktop for my daily use and giving my kids my current desktop for gaming and daily use.

    Parts I am looking at presently;

    Intel Core i7-3770 CPU $319
    Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770

    Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 MOBO. $189.99
    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

    8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM 8-8-8-24 timings. $59.99
    Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

Case: Corsair 650D $169.99 after MIR
Newegg.com - Corsair Obsidian Series 650D (CC650DW-1) Black Steel structure with black brushed aluminum faceplate ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

PSU: Corsair Professional Series Gold AX650 650W Full Modular Power Supply $149
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX650 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPSV12 v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC High Performance Power Supply

    SSD: Samsung 830 Series 256GB $275.99
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256B/WW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

    Moving over
    1TB Caviar Black (Storage Drive)
eVGA GTX 570 video card (will put my 9800GTX+ back into old box)
Windows 7 64bit retail (will put Win 7 home premium onto old box)

The parts above, without OS consideration is just under $1,200 which seems reasonable to me.

Any concerns with any parts picked out?

    Nice looking system pparks. Jealous.

The one thing that jumped out for me was the reviews on the Gigabyte motherboard on Newegg. I think I would investigate the complaints to be sure they are not something endemic but rather just self inflicted wounds.

    Looks great overall.

Here are a couple of PSU alternatives:

For 139.99: SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold ((SS-650KM Active PFC F3)); I think the Corsair you have picked out is a rebranded version or clone also made by Seasonic.

Newegg.com - SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold ((SS-650KM Active PFC F3)) 650W ATX12V V2.3/EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

For 96.99: XFX Core Edition PRO650W (P1-650S-NLB9) 650W BRONZE; Seasonic built. Bronze not Gold, but it would take many years to make up the $53 in savings on the price.

    Newegg.com - XFX Core Edition PRO650W (P1-650S-NLB9) 650W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Yeah, there is some research to be done there. There sure does seem to be some random lockup issues on that board and the latest Gigabyte BIOS updates don't seem to be fixing it.

I've also been looking at the Asus P8Z77-V...but due to fact that I want eSata I have to step up to the Deluxe model and that brings the price up to $275...which is more than I really want to spend on my mobo. I'd like to be under $200 on the mobo.

Edit: I stand corrected, I can do the LE version for $165
    Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z77-V LE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Got more research to do. Thank you for the feedback.

^Thanks, but I'm nowhere near ready yet to pull the trigger. Just thinking about it out loud and gathering suggestions.
