Okay guys, here is what I'm doing, looking for advice here. Here are my current bios settings. From here I change to enable adjust cpu ratio in OS save and reboot and use MSI control center. I have changed the multiplier to 52, and the cpu vcore to between 1.36 and 1.39. Im using sa @.970, PLL @1.84, I/O @ 1.07 CPU core expander to enhanced. Any reccomendations on changes?
No clue Doug.........never dealt with MSI boards before. Well, not for overclocking anyway.
Yeah, I should get an ASUS, or make a ASUS to MSI translator. I like being the lonewolf MSI guy here though![]()
That`s why I no longer use my MSI board
I never understood why the OC Genie didn`t make the necessary adjustments for you when I tried to go over 4.4 GHz. I thought that was the whole purpose of the software.
But you`re the one who got me to 4.8 on my MSI board, so if there`s anyone here who can figure it out, it`s you![]()
Yeah, if you could have hung you could have got 5.0.. OC genie was only made to get 4.2 on Z77, the newer generation goes to 4.6. I never used it, prefer to do it myself
I may not know much, but I know the Sabertooth BIOS pretty well lol.....some of the settings/skills are transferable but some aren't.
It's a different language in MSI. We in ASUS don't have "vdroop offset", unless it's just "offset mode. I've not seen "OCP expansion" before.
I know for one when I had my GD-80 Board PLL does nothing for over clocking leave it alone
you should have APS active phase management
You will need to use the MSI Control Center software to go further
If you can't get anymore out of the board in the bios
