I did get this much out of this chip but i wasnt willing to put my voltage to the max to keep it stable i bumped the v-core to 1.43 the max on the board is 1.449 via bios
I have no idea why it is limited when the manual and online books say it is supposed to be way higher anyway im not trying to fry another board so i guess ill play it safe but im sure if i cranked it up just the last notch i could get this stable
nice1 chap, dont blame u for paying it safe mate
i think i may hav a bit of a mess today. i've always left my llc at stock which is set too high so i'll see what i can get with a lower llc. default chucks too many volts down the pipe
Seriously the 4100 you are using would get blown away by the 4300 actually the 6300 comes in pretty darn good since they have redone these chips
If you are thinking about getting the better version of your current cpu won't be disapointed this chip has been wrecking the visuals with the 7970 and have to say very smooth i put some screen shots up on post your screen shots you can tell it looks hell of alot crisper
im not using the 4100 chap i have the 6100 and thats more than enough for me as i pretty much only game enit. next year when i've bought a new psu and monitor i may think of upgrading. i dont think i will though as my rig is already proppa overkill for what i need
saying that tho, they r cheap anyway enit so late next year i could pick one up for next to nothing, i could have bought my mates 8150 for £50 but could'nt see the point. i'll probably leave it as is now and next upgrade go intel as i'll have to buy a new mobo anyway.
i'll av a butchers at ur screenie's though
edit: a less brutal oc, pretty similar settings to urs not to try n rub it in tho but maybe help
edit2 my bad lol wrong cpu
aaaannd i still ent had chance to av a play mother visited. i did manage to get the llc down from its high/extreme defaults though. it was'nt over volting at all as i'm still around stock voltage but was more than i wanted.
i'll av a day at it tommorrow
i'm glad those piledrivers are showing good results tho. stopping a few of the fanboi's

I am thinking of buying a fx-6300 as it eats the 3220 and 3240 for breakfast(exept single threaded(THE ONLY ONE IT LOSES and not by many points anyway)
i mean it is even £6 cheaper than the i3 3240 and the motherboards are cheaper, YOU CANT GO WRONG
Is there a simple OC'ing guide? I'd love to OC one of my many PC's. I don't care about damaging, I got all files saved, and multiple PC's to work with if one is screwed
There are absolutely loads of guide's to overclocking all over the net. You can google overclocking guide for your specific cpu. There's probably a few threads to give an idea around these forums too BUT before doing anything read, read and read some more, Have a mooch in your bios to make yourself familiar with the bios and when you do finally have a go always keep an eye on your temperatures.
i'm still very new to overclocking but no doubt one of the more experienced lads will be able to help you better.
read as much as you can to familiarise yourself with the job ahead
