    ello chaps
    still not got them in
im getting mixed replie's when i ask about the power requirements. my psu is a xfx core edition pro 750w 18months old. most people are saying that 750w is enough to run them but as im running 2 monitors the cards will use a lot more power even at idle.. so what ya think folks? theres no way i can afford a new psu untill early next year. install one card or 2?

using this calculater http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine it suggests 575w. if i add 25% to the capacitor aging it says 706w

coolermaster psu calculator says 700w too.

in this thread people are saying that they're running 2 x 670's on less than 750w http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1752597&mpage=1

i just dont want to be killing things

    Hanns.G HL231 review | Monitors | Reviews | PC Pro
Power consumption Peak power consumption 27W
    Idle power consumption 1W
Very little power draw by the monitors.

I would think your XFX 750 Bronze should be more than sufficient.

Measured power consumption two cards in SLI x2
    1. System in IDLE = 160W
    2. System Wattage with GPUs in FULL Stress = 433W
    3. Difference (GPU load) = 273W
    4. Add average IDLE wattage ~20W
    5. Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 293 Watts
Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:
    • GeForce GTX 670 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500~550 Watt power supply unit.
    • GeForce GTX 670 2x SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
Red above I added and is 2xSLI stressed wattage draw. In other words maxed out.

All the info is here.> http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_670_2_and_3way_sli_review,4.html

If it helps, I ran 2x 560ti's off my Antec 750 watt just fine, I believe the 670s use the same if not slightly less power.

no pics yet folks sorry. had a right nightmare with them. the first went in sound but as they are 2 and half slot cards the first one just covers the second pci-e slot. i tried installing the second card in the 3rd pci-e slot but something is stopping it from sitting right. its only 1 or 2mm at most but i cant suss whats stopping it.
heads up my arse for now so i'm gonna smoke a tonne n go to kip lol. fresh head in the morning may help but i can't see it fitting unless i go water and thats not an option. nothings ever straight forward is it
    catch ya later folks

ganjiry, Can you explain the 'something's stopping it from siting right'? Is it something in the slot, or is it that the backplate won't line up with the slot screw holes? If it is the screw holes, you may have to loosten the backplate on the card slightly, screw it in, then tighten the backplate again. I've heard some people even bend the backplate. I've never dared that trick though, an couldn't recommend it.

What's about the 4 screws on the PCB side that holds the radiator ? They might be up 1 or 2mm too high. May be flatted ones could do the trick?

Also bear in mind, if you do manage to fit the cards in slot 1 and 3 that you will need a longer SLI bridge. I don't know if you have one or not, but thought I would mention it.
