Overclocking my Intel Quad-core i5-2500k @3.3GHz on an Asus P8H61-M LE

Hi, i was wondering if overclocking my CPU (specified in the title) while using the motherboard of mine (also specified in the title) is possible and ok?

I saw this video on how to overclock my CPU: Intel i5 2500k Overclocking Guide 4.5ghz settings. Asus P8P67. Air cooling. Stable. GLHF Computers - YouTube

His motherboard, however, is not entirely the same as mine. So if you could tell me if overclocking the way he does, while using my specified Specs will be fine, i'd be glad!

    Thank you!

As far as I know, overclocking is not possible on the H61 chipset. You would need a motherboard that has either the P67, Z68, or Z77 chipset. I've been a member of Overclock.net for over 4 years, and I haven't seen anyone doing any Sandy Bridge overclocking on any other chipset.

    GIGABYTE Launches Super4

As far as I am aware, Gigabyte offers some form of overclock on the H61 chipset, but I'm not entirely sure how they do it........perhaps BCLK only?

I doubt you can OC with that chipset, as TwoCables said, it is more for the graphical performance than CPU performance.
