    Slight Overclock

    Hi.
I don't over clock my PC's generally but I have 2 machines with Phenom II six cores in them. The one I am interested in is the machine in my specs. It is a 1055T clocked at 2.8GHZ and 3.3 GHz turbo. I would like to ramp it up to 3.2 GHz. I have good cooling a Coolermaster 212 with push pull fans. I wish I had just got the BE or a 3.2 GHZ part but I got this cpu for a good price when they were disappearing off the shelf.
Currently idles at 28C 100% CPU usage on Prime 95 10 passes max load and heat test 43C. I am pretty good with computers but have never overclocked. If 3.2GHZ was not doable I would settle for 3GHZ. It must be reliable since I use virtual machines on it most days to test stuff.

    Hi Tony,

Your best bet is to do a google search for overclocking your cpu, 9 times out of 10 there are usually many guides on how to do so that go into good detail.

I can't comment personally as I have not owned your cpu.

    Best of luck

    Paul.

Thanks Paul. I found several articles on-line and got the CPU to run easily at 3.2GHZ. The CPU is running 5C hotter during Prime 95 which might not sound much but here in Indiana in the summer it can be 95F to 100F with dangerous humidity. Even in the AC the ambient temperature can be nearly 25C. I'll see how it goes but may well back it off as other than heat I can see no difference

I imagine the performance difference from 2.8ghz too 3.2ghz is not a noticable amount?

If it runs cool enough stick with it, if not don't worry about it.

    Paul.
