Water cooling pump not spinning, weird smell coming from it when on.

I got the pictures, Alan. I don't see a drain in them though.

I hope the OP is up for a crash course in water cooling, otherwise could be best to take it to a shop. It should be fairly easy to swap out with a new pump but like you say getting the air out and running in for leaks isn't for the faint of heart. IMHO.......

It's not that bad normally, if you understand what you are doing. With all the wiring in place like he has does complicate it a little. But, he could still do it, if he is very careful. We'll see what he wants to do, but it looks like he is going to have to rewire the case, almost.

OK, but it will probably have to be a lot of pictures. I can see no drain line. You may call the guy back and ask him if there is one. If not, we'll have to do it the hard way. Meanwhile, you may want to be looking for a friend with an extra power supply you could borrow for a day or two. That would make it a lot easier to test it after the pump is replaced. I always leak test mine with only the power to the pump connected for 24 hours. Better safe than sorry.
