Great rig EK now what are you manufacturing with that err computer
EKwag, that rig is a work of art! Looks to be a beast as well. Great job!
So i finally got around to getting a graphics card. Settled on this from BestBuy. So voila! The only problem which i haven't got time to address as yet is that the card only works in the slot that it is currently in and doesn't when placed in the slot above. Not sure if that's a problem with the card itself or just a setting i have to change or if it will affect performance
Anywho thanks again guys that helped out in me putting this together. Much love!
I don't think slot will affect performance as long as it is in a PCI-Ex16 slot that is actually x16. In some mobo's the PCI-E slot will be labeled as x16(@x8) which means it is compatible with x16 cards, but will only transfer data at x8 speeds.
PCI Express - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An example is a ×8 slot that actually only runs at ×1. These slots allow any ×1, ×2, ×4 or ×8 card, though only running at ×1 speed. This type of socket is called a ×8 (×1 mode) slot, meaning it physically accepts up to ×8 cards but only runs at ×1 speed. This is also sometimes specified as "×size (@×capacity)" (for example, "×16(@×8)"). The advantage is that it can accommodate a larger range of PCIe cards without requiring motherboard hardware to support the full transfer rate. This keeps design and implementation costs down.
your Graphics WEI is maxed out, I think you have all it can give. did you try the top-most slot?
Very nice build RaviR, nice wiring. But, shouldn't that card go in the top X16 slot? Didn't hurt your WEI though.
EDIT: Sorry, I missed all the posts above me.

Ravir open GPUz and click the "?" beside bus interface and run the little video test and see it it changes to x16.
