Good job, Paul. Nice choice of Motherboard too. I've heard good things about them. That was a quick build.
Thanks Steve, I still have another hour of work on it really, plus the small task of installing Windows, then drivers and updates.
But the main thing is it boots and everything appears fine.

Oh and then I have the job of overclocking to start all over again!

It will keep me busy for a while.

So I got the thing together, it works but I need to install Windows and fit a couple of case lights and finish the cabling off.
When I saw the left hand pic, my first thought was "that's a really tight fit in that case".. Then I realised the fancy box was still it's packaging. Lol.

But all jokes aside, a friend of mine also got a Sabertooth a few months back... I said it to him then and I'll say it again now, that is one seriously sexy piece of hardware! Those red Tridents of yours stand out beautifully on it as well.. Very nice choice Paul.
Thanks ZaLiTH, that would be a tight fit lol. And yes it certainly looks pretty.

Lookin good Paul! Oh, some advice: If you don't need the ASMedia controlled SATA ports, don't bother installing the driver for them. If you have already, I'd go into the BIOS and disable it. Slowed my boot time by about 8-10 seconds and as I have no need for them.....they got disabled.

That graphics card looks pretty gnarly with the Sabertooth as well....nice job! If you need help with anything, let me know!

At least it will keep you off the streets and out of trouble.

That is one sweet looking board. Pity the X79 Sabertooth didn't look that nice.

Thanks for the advice Kelly. I am just installing Windows right now so I won't bother with the Asmedia.

And some bad news, one of my sticks of ram has gone bad, no idea why but it won't boot with that stick in. RMA needed.

    Thanks Lady Fitzgerald.

I am up and running now, no thanks to the Sabertooth Driver CD. I think it was a duff or something, took over 5 mins each time to load up and kept coming up with errors trying to install anything including the LAN drivers
In the end I used my lounge PC to download the LAN drivers and got online and downloaded the rest from the ASUS website.
All in all wasted around 30 mins messing around with the CD.

    Just installing Windows updates now.

    Paul.

Couple of blue cathodes fitted now, brightens it up a bit but not too over the top.

Looks excellent Paul, I love the look of the mobo.

A couple of questions if you don't mind mate. Where do you get your gear from in the UK?

Looking at your rig details you state no AV, is this true?!
