I use the optical drive for the initial motherboard drivers install. I also have a few gigs of backup files on CDs and DVDs.

With well over 1500 cd's all ripped lossless and more all the time I'd be lost without my opticals.

Yup we all have different needs from our rig's enit. It would be pretty boring for us enthusiast's if all case's were moulded around the same design.
I too use a bay mounted card reader and an optical drive just for the os install and maybe 4 cd's per year for my mom lol. So i could just plug it in as and when i's needed.

@Paul, Yeah i think they wasted the reviews on that case as all of them just chucked in some generic hardware without experimenting with the options available. There is a build log that has been started on the rog forum's but not finished yet. I'll have to check on it's progress as i've not really mooched in any forums recently. I hae some catching up to do lol.

Edit: It wasn't a build log but someone posted their idea's for a build in it. No doubt someone will post one soon :)

Have a butcher's at this for unpractical but a good mod all the same http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...751#post292751

Edit 2: Here ya go Paul, In this review they test it for the fitting of different radiator's http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/..._case_review/1

Edit 3 I found a decent build log with watercooling http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18527343

If you paid for all of those 1500cd's it must have been profitable to you those optical drives, and the satisfaction that you have done your duty for the artists compensations.

    Something to admire?

Yes I'm kind of nutty that way. My record collection makes my cd collection look tiny and I have a laserdisk and DVD collection of likely 800+ movies and music. I do respect the artist's work and maybe it's left over from the vinyl days but owning the physical media has always felt rewarding to me.........I know big time old school....and don't even get me going on the sound of the various formats ! lol
