Sorry, typo I meant UD5 instead.

The UD5 version is a good choice and the FX8350 should go with it well. Check specs on each one so you don't pay for a feature you'd never use.

You don't realize what a newb I am with this MB stuff !
Might you explain what I would look at in the spec's and what would I never use.
I do not do any gaming and never will, so no need for two graphics cards. Will have to do with the Galaxy 210 for now I guess.
I think the Corsair xr3, 1333 will be ok. The ssd I have is sata3.

Think more about Computer than motherboard. Hopefully the RAM you have is DDR3 otherwise I'd suggest you get some.
    OK, some boards come with:
On-board video, you have a video card
High end audio, such as 8 channel, 5 is fine, Realtek HD usually
Thunderbolt, a fast interface, largely not in use
    Some super overclock utility
2 internet connectors (LAN port) an extra one is for special "teaming" apps.
    Fancy "armor"

One you like may have one or more of those but the basics are:
    PCIe x16 slot
    4 RAM slots
Rear USB ports, enough to connect the stuff you have
USB headers on the board to connect to the front panel
Fan connectors, I like fan connectors so I don't have to use an adapter
PS/2 connector..maybe if that's how you hook up a mouse or keyboard
SATA headers for your drives, storage and DVD/CD
Ask if you have other questions.

    Thank's,
Yes the RAM is DDR3, should have stated it. Keyboard and mouse are USB.
I do have a powered USB desktop block with 10 USB 2.0 ports. Would need some 3.0 USB's for future use.
Really doubt if I will o'clock it. Don't think I need 2 'net connections.

Most of boards will have USB3.0 nowadays. Look for board that have the most USB 2.0 on the rear panel.
To avoid later confusion you'd need to install USB3.0 drivers before they could be used, not so with 2.0.

Will Win 7 install the drivers or will they come with the MB ?
I did notice the 3.0's on most of them and the abundance of 2.0's.

w7 has most drivers, or Windows update. You will need the LAN and USB3.0 drivers and possibly Audio drivers. WU may even grab a graphics one for you.

So in light of the spec's I do not need, how do I spot one which will be a great improvement over the one I have now ?

Why is this a such good system ?

I have nothing against it, just trying to understand these things now, so when I start to assemble things I don't start saying; I wish I had known this before or should've got one a little different and this is missing a....

My objective in starting this whole project is to build a system which will last a long time but still be future proof.
