    help with pci overclocking


    ok so i need to overclock my pci in my laptop. currently my eGPU is running at pci 1.1 x1 speeds, and there is no possible way to achieve x2 speeds or anything else. so to be able to play call of duty well, i need to overclock. i have a dell studio 1458 with intel series 5 chipset. i cant do it in bios because it wont let me, so i need help as for as what programs can do it etc......

    looks like i can do it with setfsb, but i need to know my PLL. anyone have any idea what it might be for dell studio 1458? google is not helping :'(

    I don't usually recommend software like that but I know how determined you are Google is not friendly on that like you said, Maybe you can try clockgen. I looked that will need your PLL too. You might have to visually check your motherboard to get it.

    yea thats what i was thinking...... DAMN IT! lol i hate taking this thing apart! lol owell. ill do later.... when i have the time. im basically at a stand still. the performance is what it is. i can not run pci 2.0 or pci 1.1 x2 speeds im stuck perminitly at pci 1.1 x1 speeds. FYI thats 250mb/s. when i buy a new laptop in a few years, i will get one thats pci 2.0 or 3.0 (500mbs/s+) and maybe even setup x2 or x1 link with optimus as long as i dont get a dGPU which to me is a huge risk especially since i wont be able to play games on it unless the eGPU is connected. so mays well get one with just a dGPU and forget about optimus.

    what other apps are there out there that can overclock the FSB? ive tried Clockgen, and setfsb and those do not support my PLL

    Yeah it's old. I'm afraid you have hit the wall at this point the only option really left is a modded BIOS, and those can brick you, if you manage to find one.

    already looked. cant find nothin. damn. i might have a lead on Overclocking with setfsb. ill have to see.
