Tommy, what are you using for a signal, satallite?
No good ole Cable we have Cox we were supposed to get Direct TV sometime back but it was cancelled Wife didn't like the package no Filipino channels

So we stuck with Cox plus I have decent internet speed I can tell you the problem is licked I watched half an hour of tv or more probably and I went through every channel 2 times and very clean full screen

Steve now you know it has to be a 2.4 Ghz Splitter with analog capture enabled I still want to mess around with Windows Media Center but worried I would screw my card back up

Also with media center even changing aspect ratio didn't help
That's great news. Congratulations for getting it to run like you want it. Now I know who to contact, if/when I decide to get a tuner. But, I know which type splitter to buy.

yup it worked with the other splitter too but just so slow

and I also did mention changing the slot might of fixed an issue with the crash I did a little tweeking to the card itself this is my card and specs MyGica X5075 ATSC/NTSC/QAM/FM Hybrid PCI-E TV Tuner Card - MyGica.com

As you can see in the picture I circled the part I tweeked I had to use tweezers to squeeze that gap tighter because the part they give you to connect to the coaxial is all loose

As you can see it is like a pin that fits in there and the other side you screw on the coaxial so that too was an issue till I squeezed it tighter together

darn Tommy, you'd think if it was made for a coaxial cable, a coaxial cable would fit right. You did have a few problems didn't you.

Also, excuse my ignorance, but do you have the cable split to go to your computer and TV? Otherwise, why did you need a splitter?

Ok lol this is where it get's complicated There is only one main box in the living room DVR every other room has a direct line splitters all over garage kitchen all the rooms of the house now in our room I had to split the line for the tv into two so I can link it with my Cable modem now I needed to split again for the Tv tuner and Cable modem

The main Networking and all that I have in our room I have it done that way to keep people from tampering with it

But let me tell you The Cable company put a new splitter on the line in our room so obviously they use a unmarked 2.4 ghz splitter unknown to me till now

so t here you have it im split all over the place like a over cooked Hotdog

Out in my neck o' the woods Time Warner has gone to only "home runs" back to a larger amplified signal splitter. They feel it is that important as they had to pull all the previous cabling and hardware out and replace all requiring a half a day and who knows how much of a cost. I should have asked for an additional line to be pulled for the computer TV card but as I don't own the house and have a TV already in the office I didn't give it much weight. When asked the tech said any splitter will degrade the signal, hence why at the very least a high band width high quality splitter would be almost mandatory.

X2 on signal degradation when using passive splitters. Both of the ones pictured in this thread said -8.0 dB for each output. Amplified ones are available.

I seen those as well but at the time im not willing to pay $34.00 for a amplified splitter

If any degradation occurs I will go ahead and make that gamble but as of now it seems to be the (fixer)
