If I am not mistaken either it was something to do with the quality and / or the capacity of some of the caps which of course would have affected any circuit they were in, and could well have been the SATA circuitry.

Again at least it was with Giga boards.

I was lucky mine was not shipped until they found the problems.

I can almost guarantee they are using some exotic cooling for those OC's......look at that voltage!

Yes Steve I saw this on another site and they were talking 4.4- 4.5 GHz but reckoned they were "pushing it" a bit.

At $275 a pop the chip is something I would not want to be replacing that often.

John, I think it is more like $350 a pop. The weird thing about Haswell is the voltage, according to Intel, is supposed to be good up to 1.6V. In the past, Intel has always understated the max voltages. But, these guys were using Phase Change, which suprises me. I would have thought you would have to go LN2 to go that high with them.

Ah I think you are talking i7K Steve I was only going to get the i5K as I don't really see myself as a enthusiast overclocker and am more curious really than getting the max out of a machine. If it makes it go a bit quicker that is all I shall need.

Plus yep the i7K is $390 out here

Steve take a look at this Amazon review by Taylor W. Moore and give me your thoughts.

And for the record I always take reviews with a grain of salt over there but you do get people who know what they're talking about. I've even written a few reviews there myself.

Anyway I feel like Taylor knows what he's talking about so I asked his opinion on getting the i7-3930K and he felt is was the better way as opposed to the Haswell i7-4770K. BTW he gives it 4 out of 5 stars.

My question is on page 5 of the comments (A.D. Minton)

    Your thoughts?
