nice card the 760 is
780's cost as much as a new build damn now that is a monster
Why are you getting another one ?
I mean, if you think it`s a dog.
And why do you think it`s a dog ?
If that is addressed to me, AddRam, for 2 reasons.
1. My current one is a dog. Requires too much voltage to get over 5. It will do it, but not without a swift kick in the ***.
2. I have 2 Asus V Maximus boards. Right now my second one is running a 2600K, it needs an Ivy Bridge.
OK 3 reasons.
3. Just because I can and don't want Haswell.
Of course, Kenseth drove for me.
The RAM is listed for Ivy as 1333 and 1600 because that is what the CPU will run ram at default settings even if you install some faster. Sandy and prior is 1333 and 1066. If you look at the SPD tab of CPUz maximum bandwidth it will show whatever the default setting is for the CPU.
The boards' BIOSes read the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) and give the RAM its initial setting so it will boot the first time, then you can use XMP or manual settings.
Sorry NoN......I've been in and out here lately and I wasn't able to help you out. If you have any other problems, please send a PM, because I certainly won't miss that. By the way, what are you up to right now as far as your OC, temps, voltage, etc?
Came across this last night and thought you OC loonies would be interested LOL!!
Watch from about 14.30 minutes
I thought the temps at the end came up real good
You've got to be brave and willing to lose your cpu when de-liding but it does have good result's if done properly. The biggest temp drop recorded from de-lidding is 30c from what i've read so worth it IF you're really pushing the clock's and willing to kill your cpu if all goes wrong.
There are loads of video's on you tube showing how to do it but most are peeps who don't have a clue what they're doing. I've seen people put a cpu in a bench vice ad use a wooden mallet to knock the blade through the silicone
