    i know what tubo is, i was wondering why he OC the turbo and not just the cores and disabled turbo?

    I don't understand. The Turbo setting IS the OC.

    Because using turbo it will throttle down when not under load. It's the best way to OC with intel.

    For some reason, I haven't got a reliable temperature reading. Speccy says it's red hot, at 89C, but SpeedFan over here says it's running at 49C.

    It's running at maximum frequency.

    Now, CPU-Z is doing something crazy, like reporting frequencies WAY ABOVE spec. Has anyone seen this happen?

    Try real temp or core temp. That speccy reading is way to high, but speed fan showing much lower so I'm not sure what to think. Be careful.
