Good Overclocking MB for Intel I7-3770K

Ok guys ,I am starting my hunt for what I am going to put together right now I have a few weeks till I have all my cash ready for this maybe by the end of this month

I'm allowing a 500.00 Budget for the CPU and MB because I can use my Ram SSD'S and Other hard drives PSU etc you get it

My only concern is I want a decent board that performs well without killing my wallet my store is Microcenter here is So Cal and I really don't like to order off the web ,I like going there in person

Pretty much I'm looking for a Combo buy The chip and Mb not to sure if I will switch the water cooler I have now to it or get a newer one like the kraken Intel Processor Motherboard Bundles | Micro Center this is there sales that are going on now and here is a picture of the boards they offer in a combination ,I originally wanted I7-4770K but don't want to deal with the feeling out process but.....

I am willing to listen to opinions and what would be a better option for me you all know I game burn movies and stream movies and TV so you would be able to recommend something that would get the job done and not kill my pocket I'm finally going Intel you guys better throw a party

I would look hard at the Asus Sabertooth, but stick with Ivy. I have been a little busy as my cooler went kaput for some reason. There are several threads around regarding Haswell. Kelly and Paul posted some good suggestions, and Gary is playing with a new Haswell rig. I think that an I5 would fit, as you are not doing some heavy encoding so I say

    I5-3570K

The Sabertooth wasn't originally designed to be a gaming/OC'ing motherboard, but I think most people have found that it does just that, and does it well. Paul can attest to how well the Sabertooth runs, because he was finally able to run his RAM at advertised speeds when he changed over to it. He also has a max OC with a 3770k of like 5.3GHz.....which is nuts! I've had zero issues with mine, and if I were building a rig tomorrow, I'd go with the Sabertooth again.

As far as Microcenter goes, do they still run the smokin deals on the Intel CPU's as long as you buy them in the store? If they do, you may be able to get the 3770K for almost the same money as the 3570k elsewhere. If you are paying full price, however, the 3570k is MORE than enough for what you are doing. I've ripped, burned, encoded, transcoded, gamed and streamed(with on the fly transcoding) and my 3570k has done it all and asked for more!

I know you've read the threads about our Intel rigs, and you've done your research.....you just have to pull the trigger on something. If you don't go with the Sabertooth, at least go with an Asus board. This platform is over a year old and the general consensus is the 3570k/3770k and an Asus board is where it's at.

I just looked and Micro Center has the 3770K for $249 as long as you buy it in store. Also, Processor pricing varies by store so you might want to give them a call and ask them how much they are. If you can get the 3770k for around $250, go for it....you'll have the best CPU you can get for that platform for a little more than what most of us gave for the i5 3570k.

yeah and now there 155.00 and frys was 179.00 im not complaining believe me but I hope to find it still by the time I get it together frys would probably be my best bet since there only a 20 dollar difference

If I don't find it what board would you choose behind it also my budget isn't going to allow the Maximus board so that is out of the question

too late man they went back up to 250 like you said before fudge

This is what frys has to offer right now Fry's Electronics | 1150

Microcenter you seen them I guess it would be the combo package that would yield some money off so i am going to have to roll with a budget board
