The whole exercise is a lost cause, by the time you decide to order the parts, get them all together and build your rig many of the parts are now no longer leading edge, still amazing great parts but they've been replaced, overclocked, superseded or something to that effect. Take it from me trying to stay on top of the 10/10th's game is just that ! IMHO.......

Well actually this is kind of a theoretical build. I was just trying to get specs for someone I know that needs to know parts for a computer. And by a gaming server, I mean a computer that can run a small server and play games at the same time. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Slow computer with good specs
Hi all, My computer is starting to run slow these last few months. I have low framerate when playing Napoleon: Total War on semi-high, which I think with these specs I should be able to play with ease... I lag on 1080p Youtube videos, for Christ sake. I have formated it twice within that...
