So my sweet deal on the motherboard turned sour. I went for my goal 5.4 oc. I got it then the computer crashed, and booted only to a blackscreen. Cleared the cmos, unhooked everything except cpu and ram, nothing. Removed the ram no beeb I took it back. I expected them to only give me the 70 buck credit, but they gave me a brand new mb. Installed it and running great. I'm not going to try a big oc for a while. It does my usual 4.5, gonna stick with that for a while
Dam, sounds like a close shave there Doug, guess it was good news it wasn't the CPU that died. Maybe that mobo don't like extreme OC's, may have weak parts, who knows, but glad you got a replacement no problem. I would stick the 4.5 yeah, that kind of stuff makes you take a step back don't it.

@ Dude, that was a bit of luck being able to exchange that board. :)

Folks, looks like I had a bit of luck for once. Just brought this home and I couldn't even clean the desk before I bragged boasted shared with my SF friends.

It's an HP ZR30w 30" IPS monitor, manufactured in December 2012, looks like it just came out of the box. Found it on Craigslist for $250. Apparently the seller just didn't want it anymore, he had a pair of 24" monitors on his computer desk. I didn't even try to bring him down on the price, just threw my money at him.

Makes my 24" Asus look small by comparison.

Woohoo!! It's almost like being a kid at Christmas!

Straight up roulette as far as the Refurbished or returned open boxed boards I got lucky with mine and maybe a few other people too

Normally I am all for brand new shinny in the box but couldn't pass the chance up at that deal a few months back $125.00 for any Intel board that is in the high extreme category that is a sick deal

It looks very sharp and clear. Did Windows scale up the desktop icons so that they weren't tiny? Color is not quite as good as my Asus ProArt, but still very good, and like you said, a smokin deal.

Of course, this means that I may have to upgrade the rest of my rig sooner than I had anticipated.

Lava King, Great deal, you really made out on that one. Congratulations. Could I get you to possibly put the same picture on both monitors so we could get an idea of the difference? I'm only curious and if you can't, it's OK. But great deal anyway.

The color correction of the Asus Pro Art monitors are what make them what they are. The high end HP monitors I'm sure look great though.
