Oh, so you did it the easy way.

I like the oven trick better, I'm going to try it.
I hope you are kidding. A hairdryer on low is a better idea.
No, I'm not actually. Why would I be kidding ?

I'm on the laptop now as I decided to put the whole 'puter in the oven on low so I can rework all of the cables at once.
AMD doesn't have a max temp listed for a FX-8350 but from looking through several forum they say it throttles at only 70C, or 158F. Plastic pieces can melt, metal panels can distort.

I know a while back you could put a dead GPU in the oven for a little while and it could bring it back to life, there were many guides online for doing it but it was only if it was dead. Obviously I would not recommend doing it on any stuff that is still working.

Thank's for the concern and research you did.
The experiment went very well though. I t was only in there for maybe 10 minutes at the lowest setting possible. When I took it out all looked good. I slowly bent the cables as I liked and then let everything cool down for a while.
It looks really good now. A little quirky though !

I once dropped a cell phone in a bucket of water, saved it by putting it in the oven at the lowest temp for an hour. It worked fine after.
