New Year's resolutions?? Bah, don't need 'em.

Here's the latest toy, just arrived and out of the box, Logitech G27.

Seen in the pic is the cockpit view from a Ferrari 458 Italia in the racing sim Assetto Corsa. I also plan to use the wheel for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Heaven help the UK, this American "good ole boy" is about to be turned loose on your motorways.

I won't apologize for the untidiness of the desk, it's just the way I am.

I just wanted to let everyone know. Paul already knows. I have made a New Year's resolution. I'll buy no computer parts in 2014.
Hmmm... this is one I might actually be able to do being that I just built a new system. Oh wait.... I still have to buy parts for my backup system. Darn it
OMG A BACKUP SYSTEM!!??!! that is a great new years resolution! and i can disguise it by saying its a computer for the wife! LOL

I'm still waiting for Asus to figure out how to make my motherboard work with my new cpu. They stated they know of the problem and will fix the motherboard. They have had the motherboard for weeks.
Many of the Sabertooth that were in warehouses have this problem. Even with a bios update they could not handle the new cpu.

    Intel i7-4820-E
    X79 Sabertooth.
Tell em you want one of these as a replacement, it was designed to run the new CPU's.

    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X79DELUXE/
Asus states the X79 Sabertoot is designed for the i7-4820-E.
Some of them just got made incorrectly. I will keep the Deluxe in mind. Thanks.

The more I read about the Deluxe the more I like it.

socrgy9, you can call it anything you want, as long as it gets built. I've called them all sorts of things. I even convinced my Wife I needed a test computer once.

Kent. I saw the desk and thought it was very neat and clean.

Layback, I hope that is not an Omen. I just boxed my board up a few minutes ago to send back to Asus. But, I have 3 more, so I'll survive. Thanks for spare parts.

paulpicks21I will give them a call Thursday or Friday.
I have been in contact with Asus by email and they stated the Sabertooth should handle the new chip but it does seem thats not true.

Very tidy looking desk Kent. Give 'em some Arkansas Razorback runs, LOL!

Jack, I must have missed your trouble with the Sabertooth x79 board. Allegedly there's an X99 or Z99 chip coming for Ivy E chips.

    TWO major problems.
    1. Unable to use the new usb flash back bios.
    2. Installing a older version cpu to update bios and then install the new chip back in.
    3. Unable to read two ram slots

LOL - this reminds me of Gigabyte's X85A-UD5 board which required an i7-920 CPU to update the BIOS so that newer CPU's would be recognized. Thank god I got a board that already had the updated BIOS cause my initial CPU was an i7-930.

Anyway good luck in getting the BIOS updated.

Can't wait to file those taxes I think i'll get just one 780 seems AMD is headache on wheels lately

All of the latest drivers makes my GPU's go Bonkers and then i would crash
disabling Ulps in the registry on the cards don't work and i am forced to run just one gpu or the 2nd one will end up going 99% load and possible burn up

Only with AMD but i have reverted back to 13.10 driver and disabled the ulps i am gold for now but kind of butthurt AMD drivers are going to hell
