Vizio hasn't made a plasma in like 5 years, but since only a few manufacturers make panels (still) it wasn't unusual to have everything but the main board be LG or Samsung. Vizio actually manufactures their own sets, but not in the US like they seem to make out. They are mostly made in Taiwan, and they source the lowest priced parts that meet their needs. The Main board is always theirs, even if the panel is made by someone else. And yes, even Sony and Sharp have low end sets 100% made by someone else. If I was shopping for a TV I'd start with Samsung, followed by LG, then Sony (Sony was always #1 for me, they have slipped). Since Panasonic has stopped making plasmas (apparently concentrating on OLED, which are not available yet), I can't recommend them. Mind, my view is skewed by difficulty of repair, etc. A Guy

It's kind of like the Sears Kenmore brand, all of them are rebranded products and many times parts from the same model aren't interchangeable.

I'm not really worried my current Vizio is 5 years old and The Vizio repair center is right down the street they couldn't avoid me if they tried

Also I don't believe spending over 1000.00 will make any TV better then the next

All TV's have features others don't more or less what suits my needs may not suit another but i know the choice i am looking for i have searched above and below and would rather keep using the same brand

I recently got a 40 inch westinghouse for like $230 at target. Great TV and it has 3 hdmi inputs and is 120hz. 1080p. It looks great and works well.

I got the 2 year extended warranty since its not a namebrand, but I really like it.

I honestly think the days of buying Overpriced TV's with so many features you will never use has ended

Money isn't what it used to be and how many actually use 3D ???? I am getting a 3D TV but also i am curious with the 3D blu rays i have that's about it but half the time that feature wouldn't even be on

My friend swears by Sony products but yet he spends money on repairs like every so often and with time that is understandable but to pay $2000.00 for a TV to go out in 6 months to a year is Ridiculous

There should be a line drawn on the concept of what makes this TV that much better

Most of the TV's offer the same as everyone else HDMI Screen size and ability to hook up extra components now

TV's that cost $1000.00 same thing and only difference is series and thickness of the TV and boarders typically after 800.00 you can find a TV just as good or even better as a $2000.00 only difference is name and possible size the only real factors in buying a TV

3D TV`s have a better processor, but they are expensive. If you can afford it, get one.

I'm sure the two year extended was almost the same price as the t.v. :)

Haven't been around in a long while, didn't have anything worth showing actually, but I think you are gonna like this one.
