    GPU OC Help

ok so i need some help with my OC.....

ive ran this OC 4.6 for a long time, but only recently was able to fully test prime 95 load for a few hrs.

however, the issue im having is that as soon as i start prime 95, or even 10 mins in, my PC shuts off like power was killed to it. its also just freezing up and such.

the PSU is brandy new and was just put in today, however, my last PSU had the same issue.

im currently at 1.5v which seems WAY high for a 4.6ghz OC

on my 4300 CPU, i was at 4.7-4.8 at 1.5v

my CPU temp is staying within reason. below 65C running prime when it works.

it seems that no amount of voltage is working. and its getting ridiculously high now.

i just started to notice this with my brand new mobo. it dident happen on my last one.

any ideas what could be causing this? its sure as hell not voltage for CPU. ive only OC the CPU by the multi.

weird. if I run prime 95 at 4.6ghz, its impossible to to get stable. if I run at 4.5ghz, I can get it stableish at 1.5v

im running intel burn test now at 4.6 with my original voltage of 1.476 (which I still think is a bit high) and its running at the maximum test, and its 100% stable rite now.... huh maybe its just prime or something. idk, but im trusting intel for now.

Cant really help with AMD, but I would stick with 4.5 Just use the higher oc's for a validation or benchmarks

Run a list of the settings you have applied and are you using the latest Asus Bios ?

Also for that speed 4.7 to 4.8 v-core should be around 1,476 to 1,488

Now if you Have LLC adjust it to high and don't touch the NB llc leave it auto

Now as for the temps have you tried reseating the cooler ?? new paste

It is shutting down because it is too hot most likely

Please if you can give us a run down of settings

idk what the hell is up with this thing. after some time on intel burn test, it froze. so I upped the voltage 1 offset, and ran again. after that, PC shut down again. what is up with this?

    CPU or mobo peoblem?

Well settings may be the issue or simply the board might not be as good as your original

just because it's the same board doesn't mean it will cooperate the same way

temps are normal never hits 65C. but at 4.5ghz, I need 1.5V?!?! that's not rite.

LLC is enabled (my only option)
    CPU multi is 23
    FSB 200
NB 2200mhz - its always been here
HT Link 2400mhz - is always been here (changing voltage dident help or underclocking it)
everything else is set to auto. ill try to reseat the cooler. but I don't think its that? would that cause it to lock up all the time? no matter the voltage?

playing games for hrs and such, no BSOD or lockups. just on prime and intel
