I am probably not looking at th right thing but my i5 3750K supposedly is set to 3.4 and turbo 3.8 but Core Temp is telling me it is belting it out at 4.1Ghz.

I did try watching this video on OCing but when I got to the beginners but this bloke reckons that the BIOS just needed setting to whatever and have it enabled so all cores changed at once but it didn't work, and that is when I also noticed the 4.1Ghz.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20rCMNzkwJo at 3.29 minutes he mentions a TPU switch that will auto OC the machine that I have never touched it because I am not that game to do that sort of stuff. So I went on to do that following instructions for the Tweaker part at 6.22 minutes.

All in all I am now lost as to what is happening any ideas please??
Sounds like you used the EZ part of BIOS and clicked the high performance profile. If it's satble, and it should be, it'll be fine. You said your RAM "started" running at 2400.
Oops missed the post there mate well it all seems to be hanging together - I do remember something about the EZ when I first installed the gear - probably got it by luck more than judgment. .

Maybe with his next chip he can push 2 volts
It would die instantly Doug. I will not be going above 1.75v on the new one regardless of what speed that bags me.

Hopefully with the colder weather and the new chip it will do well at that voltage, but forget about 2v lol.

I get the feeling the OC's here are extreme for anywhere? I don't go to the OC sites, but assume they aren't regularly pushing out mid 5GHz OCs? Are you all good, or just crazy?

Just got the Sabertooth, looks used, 2 bent dimm slots, every Motherboard I`ve ever bought has a piece of tape used on the anti-static bag, none here. No cellophane wrapping on the box, not sure if it should have that, but right away it through up a red flag. Now I have to ship it back, wait for my refund, then order another one. Maybe I`ll use Newegg this time. Just wish they had one at Micro Center and I would`ve driven out to buy it, could`ve checked it over right there on the spot.

    Asus quality control my A@@

It`s so frustrating when you have no control over any of this process.
Where di you buy it? I called Amazon today because I found a bent pin in my Sabertooth, new one will be here tomorrow and they sent a pre=paid label to send the bad one back. Whoever you got it from should do the same for you but may take a phone call. Some shady vendors DO put RMAs back on their shelves for sale even if returned defective.

They aren't wrapped in cellophane though. The ones I've gotten have no tape on the anti-static bag either. I've had about 6 different ones the past few weeks and all shipped like that.
6 different Sabertooths ? I got it from Tigerdirect, 2 bent dimm slots.

Bill, you aren't the first person to call me crazy. You don't have to be crazy to be my friend, but it helps.

BTW, Bill. I'm on the OCN leaderboard for 5 GHz overclocks. I'm #15, the # 1 is 6868 GHz. We aren't that crazy. Look at the socket 1155 IB board. http://www.overclock.net/t/678487/of...overclock-club
