Intel vs Amd is synonymous with the Coca-Cola vs Pepsi fight that has been going around for ages.
Well like some say it's just rumors
I hope it doesn't come to that more and more people i see are swaying to AMD for the budget perspective vs high dominating power of a Intel chip
Which i thought would of boosted them up some but if Steve is correct with pricing that would be a sad day and then it would come to the soldering situation as well because they don't have to compete they can just shove what ever they serve down out gullets without remorse![]()
The thing is, if the worst was to happen and Intel were the only ones producing high end CPU's, for people to want to buy or upgrade to them - A: they need to offer a good performance increase over the previous generation and B: they need to be "reasonably" priced. Otherwise people will just stick with what they have for considerably longer than they would have.
I was thinking of all the different ways this could play out, but console graphics, speed, durability etc etc have really come a long way, and who is to say that in a few years, a lot of the hardcore PC gamers wont switch to console play..given the console matches performance...and I could see it happening. Like a lot of people say, the era of the desktop has it's days numberedThis makes penguin a sad penguin
.
Here is where I am on consoles. I loved consoles, I have owned pretty much all of them, my last one was the Xbox 360, I really loved car racing games on it. And the 360 is actually the reason I switched to PC's. At first I thought the graphics were fantastic on the 360, then after a few years I thought they had kind of peaked as the software developers had pretty much utilized all the power available for the hardware in it. Then it started to go downhill for me, I think I hung on for 5 years but enough was enough, it could not supply decent enough graphics for me. I got a PC and sold the Xbox, then I started upgrading my PC.
It's not that I lost love for consoles, it's just they left it too long between releases of new consoles, they used to pop up like every year or 2, jeez I think the Xbox 360 lasted like 8-10 years, that is too much, the hardware is antiquated.
I would actually like to buy one of the next gen consoles, not to replace my PC, I really like the look of Forza 5 on the Xbox one, and I know my Daughter would love the Xbox one too.
I am in no rush though, they are a tad expensive right now.
I used to have a console, an Atari 2600, that's the last time I will have one too. I like computers, by that I mean desktops only.
