Bumped me out of the top 25
A Guy
That is some real tough luck Bill, and just before the new year for you! I feel your pain :)
I'll manage somehow...it just hurts...

Not even running an overclock now, shhhhh

That's un American Bill. Start the New Year off right. Get back in the top 25. Happy new year to you and to everyone. well, in about 5 hours and 30 minutes where I live. Some of you are already there.

thanks everyone! its my first OC and i think it went well. here's hoping for many more to come!
Yes indeed. Bear in mind that all the top speeds in the leaderboard are what we like to call "suicide runs" the PC is stable long enough just to validate the speed at that is that. For regular 24/7 overclocks most of us at the top run around the same speed as you.
OH!! wow i had no idea. i thought it was stable OC's hahaha!. i was tweaking voltages last night and running prime getting my rig solid LoL. it makes sense now. my jaw dropped when i first saw those 5.5 numbers up at the top of the board.

Yeah this thread is for the absolute most you can get out of your CPU by any means necessary, the post your overclock thread is for stable overclocks :)

Yeah good luck, also I think it's worth mentioning that most if not all the top scores were done using software once in Windows, speaking for myself there is no way I could boot to Windows at 5.5GHz, I used Asus AI Suite to set the speed and voltage, applied it and hoped to high hell I could validate before the PC crashed lol.

If you remember I was getting random freezes and had to hard restart. Going back to stock clocks fixed it. As much as I'd like to get my ram back to 1600Mhz, etc. I'd much rather have a stable PC. A Guy
