Solar, I don't think either of us qualify. If I understand correctly, it is a Sabertooth board melt down. Our boards don't qualify for the melt down list. I seriously the list will be very long the way my Sabertooth runs.
It was just a stupid idea in my head and you guys are runnin with it
Just proves everyone has a sense of humor
Ya I guess if we just kept it to Sabertooths it might be a short list, but we could build the list then show it to Asus, they might get a laugh out of it.
I got an email when Intel received my i7 and I got an email when my replacement was shipped on Friday and it will here today.
Asus got my board on Thursday and I have not heard 1 word from them, should I be concerned ? I`m not![]()
Brian, I think you can tell by looking through our benchmarking forum, we will make a list of almost anything. As far as the sense of humor. My opinion is that we come to this forum to help people and most of us do some fairly serious work doing that. So, if in the process we can have a little fun, why not? I have a sense of humor and see no problem at all with using it. I hope I never lose it either. And, BTW, I can laugh at myself as well as at others, and do quite often. Plan to continue laughing as long as I can too.
EDIT: My experience with Asus (and I have quite a bit) is that during the RMA you will never hear anything. The replacement board will just show up at your door one day. That's their only communication with you. But, you can send an email with the case # and RMA # and ask for the status, and most of the time, you will get a response. Or, you'll have better luck and a better, quicker response by calling "support" on the phone and asking them.
They allow RMAs for over clocking? Or are you talking about the Performance Tuning Protection Plan?
Every part and component you purchase comes with a so many year warranty
Overclocking generally voids warranty but in recent years they have made chips exclusive to Overclocking which means even though you pushed the chip they still have to cough one up because they made it for that purpose
same with any other manufacturer in a sense you can blow up anything you wish with in reasonand have it replaced now if it was on the upside of like 5 years then i would think that was just ware and tear and pretty much but still chance to be replaced if it is new enough
