Hello Guys! Replaced my thermal paste last Friday and it looks the time running have done its job, so i'm now preparing my OC...:)

On my way to my 5th CPU-Z validation heading to 4,9GHz...

Those are bios settings & TurboV Evo Group Tuning on all cores.

    Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V-LE PLUS

    4,9GHz in Bios, manual setting
    All set to Extreme w/T.Probe
    Offset Mode: + (0.270),
    Core Voltage: 1.464 to 1.474 seen in CPU-Z v1.68.0,
Idle Temps: approx 31°C to 32°C in CoreTemp RC6 with a Delta room 20°C,
Write cache disable on all Hard Drives excepting SSD Caching drive
    Load Line Calibration: Ultra High
    CPU fixed Freq: 200MHz
DRAM Fixed Freq: 500MHz (Ram sticks on stock settings).

I have to do further test for stability but i doubt it stays long through time. I'm actually letting on purpose at idle for a short moment (could be few hours) then will start running Intel Burn Test to see if it goes along the all test.

I'll come to you back then with the validation within CPU-Z (if succeed), otherwise 4.8GHz will be the wall for that motherboard!

    Cheers!

Nice one NoN, looks like you are getting close to the wall with that voltage but I recon you should be able to validate a 5GHz if you dare.

Thanks guys, been nearly five hours running that 4.9GHz and idle, little browsing here & there is ok. Some Whea logger errors in events viewer might come from start-up boot & OS loading, otherwise doing fine.

CoreTemp still gives me a good feedback.

Waiting now a little more before launching IBT!:)

    5th Cpu-Z Validation

So, I do have validate my 5th attempt to score 4.9GHz.

I have reach quite quickly TJM to 105°C on two cores with IBT (Times to run: 3). Couldn't goes further with IBT.

    I'm cheating a little!:)

The machine have hold well idle for 10 hours with some web-browsing and AV quick-scan and so so of everydays.

NoN you don't have to have a stable overclock for this thread, any way is permitted. Be careful, your Vcore is at the max for Ivy on air. Well, it's a bit more, 1.45 is the highest recommended, I think.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the warn on stability...i have prefered increasing Vcore to nearly max in case of BSOD happen, which didn't during the all 10 hours session & quick IBT!

For the first sentence of your reply, that's mean i will be able to reach 5GHz club soon, cool?:)

I would still advise you to lower your Vcore to 1.4 as a MAX.
Yup, this thread is for "show off" clocks, the Show Us Your Overclock is for stable settings.
My 5GHz clock only lasted long enough to get the validation. I also run something not too intense like super Pi or an AV scan to get it to boost.
