After searching and searching I found a bios I could flash my card to the correct way and yay it works now I am going to work some Afterburner settings
    Haha nice!

Ya u have to do it in dos once they are bricked. i learned thay the hard way....haha

I didn't do mine through DOS I just found a better Bios file check out what I used right click over the EXE run as Admin then load the bios file then hit program no need for DOS prompt buddy you can also load as many Bios files you want in the folder as shown in my shot

Here are my settings with a Reference card it hits damn near what Paul's Vapor X did almost i'm sure if i mess with Afterburner I can get the UPLS lifted and add more voltage I think his were 1200/1600 I am not that far off really

but I learned that I Have to install MSI gaming app to get the extra 30mhz. It says it has some fixes with VRM overhearing and such. I'll look into it more when I get back to my PC and see what version I have on. Etc.
For 30mhz - I wouldn't even bother. In game FPS increase would not be noticeable.

VRM overheating would be down to volatges. The fix may be a lower voltage ceiling which would also lower the max overclock.

As for your whine, it sounds like coil whine. It's not always a sign of a faulty card, but it is a nuisance.

I haven't looked into the new AMD range enough to know whether it's normal to this architecture or is actually a bad sign.

On older CPU sockets, enabling Load Line Calibration could have a direct impact. Not too sure if that's still relevant.

I flashed the fixed bios. It brought the core to 1050. It also stopped most if the whining. But its still not perfect. Also drivers got another beta update and that helped a lot too. But still some whining.

alright so I need some opinions.... what do u guys think I should do?

my card is making a LOT of squealing! while gaming. its getting annoying and im honestly getting tired of it.

so should I just keep my card for about a month or 2 and then RMA with MSI, or should I RMA it now get a refund, and than buy the Asus one? the asus one has no squeal and its clocked 100mhz higher on mem and 20mhz on core.

I think im going to buy the asus one asap when it comes in stock and than RMA mine. this way I have a card for gaming on this long weekend and I still get my money back.

When is it squealing mate? During gaming? Have you got Vsync turned on? If not then most cards squeal when they are running very high fps.

all the time! its a problem with this card. ALL the reviews say this.

even with vsync on, it squeals a lot when its off it squeals a lot. basically where theres more than 30% load on it.

so im going to buy thr asus one and than RMA this one.

does anyone know if the asus one has dual bioses? I don't see a switch anywhere on the card.....

ok no it does not have dual bioses but that's ok, cause the stock bios allows upt o 1.4V on the core. so a lot of OC headroom.

what you could do is refund it and get a 7970 be cheaper and the same thing

I had one card that squeals and that card is gone it eventually went bad because the temps became a problem for it

There are not many 7970s here any more Solar, I am not sure if its the same in the States, but the R9 280X is actually cheaper than any of the 7970s now.
