what you could do is refund it and get a 7970 be cheaper and the same thing

I had one card that squeals and that card is gone it eventually went bad because the temps became a problem for it
There are not many 7970s here any more Solar, I am not sure if its the same in the States, but the R9 280X is actually cheaper than any of the 7970s now.

I think you are right looking on any site like Newegg Tiger Frys or even Microcenter doesn't have them available

No wonder I seen my particular one pulling $ 400.00 on Ebay 300.00 used

    People still want these cards

yea. idk im more than happy with my card. just hate the squealing! lol

as soon as the asus one comes in I will get that than RMA mine. it just sucks that it dosent have dual bioses. I would have loved to mess around with bioses later on without risk of bricking. but I guess I will just have to rely on MSI after burner for the OCing.

You don't have to worry about squealing on the 290X, the fan is so loud you can't hear anything else anywhere Lol

Yes, you can only get reference 290X at the moment. I think when the non ref come out it should be a great card and will hopefully bring the temps down a bit. 95c is too hot in my eyes, I don't care if AMD say It's fine.

After all the test we have been doing mate mine still shows strong gains which is very good and still can hang with the big boys

I still will keep these and toy around but I still want to get my hands on a couple of those HOF 780 's you running that will be next year sometime if everything goes right

AMD said that is the target they were going for so I really can't say they figured if they put a max temp people would feel more at ease I guess Paul isn't one of those people
