Everything should work fine together. One thing I'd do is go to the GSkill page for that RAM and check their list of boards it's been tested on to see if that one is there.

I just bought a Dell XPS 8500 and it has 3 3.0 usb ports. My Western Digital external hard drive is usb 2.0.
