Time for a new PC, opinions?
Hi All,
I am building a new PC, my old PC is getting on for 5 years old now and I am starting find games I cannot run with it.
Firstly, I have an Antec 900 case and a SilverstoneTek TJ06 case sitting here from previous PC's and was thinking I could probably avoid buying a case for the new system, is this a good or bad idea? Which case would you suggest I use?
Also, I have an OK monitor that will do for the meantime to enable me to keep costs down for a bit. The same goes for my KB and mouse.
I use an Antc Truepower Trio 650W is my old machine and it still seems to be running fine. Would you suggest replacing it or can I re-use it? Are there any new cables that are now standard in a PSU that this one will not have?
Onto the specs of the new machine, I had put this together:
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2781-KR)
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM
Kingston HyperX Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (KHX16C10B1BK2/16X)
Kingston 240GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S37A/240G)
MSI Z87-G43 Gaming Series Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Does this look ok?
How future proof do you think it will be?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
