    Corsair's H100i Link Software update


    For those of us running Windows 8.1 and want to use the Link software with your H100i closed-loop cooler, Corsair has released a beta version compatible with Windows 8.1...


    12/19/2013 - Corsair Link Software Update BETA Version 2.5.5145

    • Windows 8 and 8.1 Support
    • CPUID hardware monitoring engine
      • Motherboard fan speeds and temperatures are now shown. Fans from the motherboard are reporting only and cannot be controlled.
      • GPU temperatures for some cards are missing at this time.
    • Firmware auto detection at first startup. User selectable option to update or not. Needs minimum versions listed below for detection inside software. Firmware files are part of the install package. No separate download needed.
      • CoolingFW_1.2.8 (Cooling Node)
      • HydroFW_1.2.8 (H80/H100)
      • LightingFW_1.1.9 (Lighting Node)
      • USBFW_2.0.6 (Commander unit)
      • H80i_v1.0.5 (H80i)
      • H100i_v1.0.5 (H100i)
    • Tooltips have been added to key panels. This can be turned off in the options panel.
    • System tray icon has new functionality for quick reference of displayed data and profile switching.

    You must remove old software, profiles, and reboot before installing this.

    Currently the only way to get the Link software to properly work under Windows 8.1 is through a registry hack or other extraneous measures: Windows 8.1 temporary workaround - The Corsair Support Forums (I did the registry hack).

    Update:

    Can confirm this is now natively working under Windows 8.1. Can't speak about 7 as this is now a Win 8.1 system, but if you've had issues in the past with the older version you might give this a try. Plus, it now reads other system fans and temps as well; It's been expanded to give more info

    BTW - before updating to this version, I had to remember to revert my registry changes back to their original state to see if this software really is working under Win 8.1. In short... make sure you undo your changes to get the older version working before installing the new update.
