What declining desktop market? It is a fallacy because it does not count the millions of us who roll our own systems.

AMD stated 2-3 years ago it would shift focus to GPU and not compete in the CPU arena as much. It seems they are following that plan since buying ATI out.

The money spent on an Intel system I think is worth it in terms of speed an performance, it really is a big difference, eh Tommy?
i dont thin the desktop market is declining. actually i think its growing and will always grow because of the advances in technology and how cheap its becoming. along side of that, just PC gaming in general is growing also. however AMD is better off sticking to GPUs. lets face it, they make some really Kick ass GPUs for really cheap. if AMD get out of the CPU market, that may mean Intel might get cheaper. or it could go the complete opposite too i guess....

If Intel was the only CPU maker, the prices would go up up up and away. Really they would have a monopoly on CPUs, they could charge what they pleased and people would have to pay up or else be out of a chip.

I hope AMD would start up in CPU development again, Intel needs the competition or I suspect their prices would get real stupid. It costs no more to fab an i7 than it does the lowest end AMD chip. Intel has no 8 core chip yet either.

Intel could buy NVidia I suppose.

hat would actually be a strategic move in the right direction. Such a merger would not only lower TCO but the prospective EPS growth rate would be astronomical. The return on investment would be....

yea that's true. Intel would be a monopoly. IMO, AMD should continue their FX series. they are great chips and with some better single core improvements, they would be amazing!

welp i guess intel is my next upgrade..... damn! dident want to spend all that money! owell lol im thinking i7 and asus mobo lol by the time i upgrade, new stuff will be out. but as far as GPU's go, looks like AMD is taking the cake over Nvidia with Mantle and all. BF4 is going to be the first game that supports it. after that, who knows. i think a LOT og games are going to support it.

idk. to me, it seems as if AMD has hit a wall with their CPU's... like the 9590.... REALLY? just an 8350 beefed up with some more volts.
I heard rumors about AMD buying NVIDIA company O_O
This will never happen the fan base will see to it

AMD wants to crap on Intel in the Mobile market that is where Intel is weak at

Most IGPU's suck and have to use Dedicated card for that AMD is implementing Mantle with their IGPU which will not use so much GPU more CPU this time around 8 core anyone ?

To people who wouldn't understand this ,This is where the 8core will be effective because mantle will use more CPU then GPU hidden agenda has come to light
