the Max OC i will be doing for everyday is 4.6-4.8. out of the box i want to OC to 4.2 however. as much as i would like a saberthooth, its just way too much money and way too expansive for my needs.
ive found the CPU for $250 at micro and also found the mobo in ebay used for $100. so im probs going to be shooting in that direction.
Congrats for your "poweruser" badge!:)
What's about a refurbished mobo coming from a returns with a 3/6month warranty. Here we've got some asus P8Z77-V Pro for 60% the price, but the counterpart is missing often the Wifi GO! module in their sales.
My mobo (see specs) is 10 phases and doing right at OC 4.2 24/h and hit sometimes 4.6/ 4.8GHz.
Plus, Asus motherboard brand begins to stop giving updates to their softwares and bios. With all those drivers updates coming next year for windows 8.1 and next....
Asus already provided some oRom for Z97 and H97...
i wouldn't spend too much now in a Z77 motherboard even if benchmarks tell Sandy & Ivy to stay some of the best. That is obvious i will upgrade at least to a Z87 mobo in two years.
where could i find those? i dont need the wifi module.

Amazon (sabertooth z77 is out-of stock here, but still priced!) have a refurbished stand on their site with at least 6months warranty.. If you dig a little in shop centers online...you could find some refurbished, sure.

the one i found was for $100 used.
I'm telling you that only for the warranty, just in case of a defective mobo you could buy from an untrusted seller, or him to play the game and accepting a return policy, that would the best, as i'm also not against you buying your stuff less the price!

Hi,
First thing I'd like to say is that I'm not a newb who's posting his first ever question here on the site. I had an account here and I guess I haven't logged in for awhile so I was deleted. So I had to create a new account using my old member name.
So here's my latest problem. I hope...
