Have you booted to bios with the rig out of the case? That will help to know everything is compatible and working before placing in the case when it comes.

No I haven't really had time today to do much of anything but it looks like my case is held up with this storm, Im probably going to run to Tigerdirect tomorrow and get one. The way it looks right now, I may not get that case until tuesday or wednesday.

Well, there is good news and bad news.. Most of my stuff showed up! However, my case got held up in Tennessee because of this stupid snow storm hitting Georgia...

Thats about as far as Im going to go until I get my case

I have another case I could use but I'll just be patient and wait it out I guess.

So basically everything is here and accounted for. The SSD doesn't come with a mounting bracket but thats not a big problem, Ill just go pick one up. I was worried about the PSU but just going by looks it should be decent enough to get me going. The CPU fan is awful but I'll have to figure out a way to buy one without the wife complaining too much more :)

When I get the case I'll update again.
You could just buy velcro which could be cheaper.

So I just tried to get it to post and no luck. Im not sure if APU's are different or if I have to do anything special with this mobo but I couldn't get video up. It may be posting behind the scenes, I dont know.

Anyway, the cpu fan spins up, I get the LED power light on in the mobo, PSU fan runs, HDMI (and VGA) on my monitor tries to identify but finds no signal.

APU and mobo should have no issues with the video output, best to re-read the manual or better yet contact ASUS and have them walk you through the mobo settings and if still no video then likely an RMA. Just remember better to sort this out now then build complete and find this out. Likely something minor !

So here is the deal, I should have paid more attention and/or done more research. Basically, I need to flash the bios to work with the A10. The mobo doesn't support flashing without the CPU so I either have to buy a bios chip, which surprise surprise, ASUS doesn't sell. Or I have to go buy a CPU that the mobo supports out of the box and then flash the bios, then return the CPU.

I talked to Newegg and they are willing to refund the full amount of the MObo but Im not sure if Im going to do that just yet. Anyone know of a place that would sell a bios chip for ASUS A88xm-Plus/CSM?

Call ASUS that mobo is showing with the EZ Flash feature, they may have a way around this? That'a a nice combo feature where they sell a mobo with the wrong bios to support the combo CPU. Classic ! This happened to me with a MSI mobo but I live 1 hour away from their national headquarters.

Alright so I got everything up and running, Win7 pro installed free... being a student pays sometimes

Anyway, I had to jump through major hoops to ultimately break down and go buy the A8 and flash the bios. Ill return the A8 tomorrow for store credit and probably get a new CPU fan. Basically I called ASUS and they essentially dont support this motherboard. They dont sell the BIOS chip and apparently dont even have the chips to flash a bios with the one I need and send it to me. My other option was to RMA it. Newegg was helpful and were willing to refund me the full price of the mobo and CPU even though it was a bundle. They are good in my book..

Ill upload some pics tomorrow of the complete build.

So glad you found a way. Shame on a bundle being put together and never tested for compatibility and at least giving the purchaser a clue as to what would be needed to get a successful boot.

Yeah I was ok with the fact that I had to flash the thing but jeez, send the Mobo with an easy flash usb and button to make my life easier. If nothing else, at least support your product enough to at the very least be able to give me a freakin Bios chip... but I digress.

Everything is great and its pretty damn fast for not having a GPU.

Here is the finished product, cable management isn't the greatest but its not going in a show room lol

I appreciate all your help linnemeyer and everyone else.
