AddRAM, Brian, had the same issues.
I have my second rig with the Antec 920 installed and I have AI Suite installed, or I should say part of it. The Antec software, if you use their fans, won't conflict with AI Suite, the fans connect to each other. I will say I don't particularly like the way their software works, but it does the job OK. It regulates the fans based on water temp and not on CPU temp, which I realize are related, but sort of remotely related. But, it works fine using their software. But, I have a fan controller and if I swap fans I will put them on the fan controller which by passes both any Antec or AI Suite software. A fan controller is the way to go. If I switch fans on the Antec, I will probably uninstall the Antec software. But, for what it's designed to do, it works fine.
Does it issues both way when directly use with USB Header and when plug onto motherboard (Radiator Fans)?
I was thinking the same about "sort of remotely related" when used with Ai Suite. Thanks for your inputs Essenbe!
But Software sensors should works with the motherboard headers? No point with a fan contoller + the branded software? Only good for one simple AIO Pump + Fans with no Soft.
I've found AI Suite II works just fine for me although it is the only one I use since my rig is air cooled. AI Suite III is supposed to be even better but it's incompatible with my MOBO .
I also had the Antec fans installed, no AI Suite, and the program always errored with a "Can't start" message. I mean the Water 2.0 thing.
One more question about setting Branded Watercooler software "USB Link"...
Does one of you have tried those settings?
1)In Bios i can set Q-Fan to Standard (auto), disabled is no need unless i really want to get rid of some fan headers.
2) Installed both Ai Suite & a "USB Link" Software
3) Some answers had been already made above posts!
(Two or one Fan plugged onto the "USB Link" header of the pump which is plugged onto the CPU_Fan + USB header)
Looks it draws quite a lot of power on the only one CPU_Fan header even if the USB port of the motherboard rely on it.
4) Have unchecked boxes Fan monitoring in AI Suite Fan Xpert+ (set standard in bios), the radiators fans they want to use with "USB Link" software but those are plugged onto motherboard headers (pump alone onto CPU_Fan + USB header)
5) I would like to know if when the radiator fans are plugged onto the motherboard, unchecked in AI Suite... if the "USB Link" software does still remotely sees the fans sensor of the Mobo ?? (Which could tell me the real need of using only one software)
Well, I do have the choice building my own 240 Watercooling system, but this lead me to "special parts" and high priced system.
Buy an entry-level 240 AIO w/No Soft include, which make me think is useless as i'm afraid having nearly the same temps as my Air Cooler!! (+3°C gain, no push/pull install). But easy & quick install that can be regulate/monitor by AI Suite or Speed Fan for those.
Or one like i'm asking right now...with soft, 240 sized.
Just a matter of knowing compatibility, i'm right on the edge as i have never installed a watercooling system. I just can see technicals specs and install guide.... Thanks guys!
Just blew out laptop, desktop and 4 drive external enclosure. Desktop was cleanest, lappy was full of dust but the external enclosure really needed a clean. Don't forget all the devices we use that need cooling, I say quarterly at the very least if not every other month. If you are in a dusty area then possibly monthly. It's a pain but when done your electronics will thank you with cooler temps and better air flow and quieter operations.......just do it !
Darn, Alan How'd that happen, them all going out at once? No way to celebrate your second medal. Congrats on the medal anyway. It is well deserved.
