I worried about the panel stiffness when I did this: Making a custom side window But the 3/16th thick polycarbonate (Lexan) window fixed it up OK.

While a Lexan window would stiffen my side panel somewhat, I fear it might noticeably restrict airflow.

That was a very nice job you did on that window. I noticed you cut your screws the same way I do; using a stripper/crimper. That tool is as handy as opposable thumbs.

I'd say it's more handy.. They can still be used without opposable thumbs.

Not with my hands (unless I use both of them). I have a similar problem with my blind rivet gun. I have to use both hands to make a full squeeze because my hands are too small to get a good grip on it. Unless I choke up on it; then my hand isn't strong enough to squeeze it due to the reduced leverage. Making it even more awkward is I like to pull up on the gun for that final squeeze so the gun doesn't jump and bounce back down on the surface of the work, scratching it up.

Then I suppose I'm gifted with my "piano fingers" as they've been called. Leverage helps where there's a lack of strength.. :)

More on the PC case topic though, it's a pity the dust filters hide the white fan blades so much. I think that little bit of white would look pretty awesome on the side if it was clearer...

It certainly would look cool but I need clean air going into that case so I'm stuck with having filters. In fact, those are the original foam filter pads you see in there now. I'm going to replace them with some finer, far more effective filter mesh cut out from some DEMCIfilter filters; then you won't be able to see the fans at all. Same for the mesh in the stock front and PSU filters. I just need to decide if white or black mesh would look better. When I'm wrapping up the case surgery and start putting it back together again, I'll probably put temporary pieces of white and black paper where the new mesh will go just to get a "feel" for what would look best. Part of the issue is there is a perforated metal grill on the front filter and the more open grills on the side filters and white would really bring out that difference. Time will tell.

I know the DEMCIfilters, got a few of the magnetic ones for my old black case a while back.. Highly recommended.

Can't wait to see it together again, pretty sure it's going to look really sleek. :)

I can't wait to get it together again, either. I'm getting tired of fooling with it! I don't know about sleek, however. I'm not changing the color scheme and the only visible changes that will be seen from front and sides are the side fan filters and the shroud on top.

    Thank you Jeannie.

Did you know DEMCIflex will make custom shape/size filters?
