i got it on amazon as the key did not work with the cd that was provided so i found sumwhere i could buy the key on its own now that i look at the Windows 7 install disk it says on the side of it this soft ware is already installed on youer pc.use this dvd to reinstall the os on a dell pc .so that is probley why it shows up as dell is it really a big deal?and it was in a paper disc holder. one disc
Let me see if I understand this...

    1. You bought Win 7 from Amazon and the key it came with didn't work?
    2. You bought a key somewhere else. From where?
    3. The disk you bought from Amazon is a Dell disk? And it says it's for re-installation?

OK - you have two major problems.

    1) your original 'install' disk is actually a Dell Recovery media disk - and will ONLY work properly on Dell machines which shipped with that OS pre-installed.

    2) the site you bought the COA_SLP Key from was selling counterfeits - or stolen/hacked Keys. NO-ONE (even MS) sells legal Key-only Windows OEM Licenses

You need to demand a refund from the Key supplier under threat of legal action, and may also have a case for fraud against the vendor of the Dell disk, depending on the wording of the advertisement.

You did NOT purchase a COA_SLP license Key direct from Amazon - you may have bought from somewhere in the MarketPlace.
The link you posted is a direct sale from Amazon - and they only sell legitimate OEM_NSLP licenses, complete with disks and OEM System Builder License labels.

The one you linked to above is perfectly fine so far as I can tell - it's being 'Dispatched and sold by Amazon' rather than by anyone else.
Don't click on the '30 new from' link inside, as some of them are likely to be counterfeits (and they are all more expensive than Amazon anyhow).
I doubt you'd find a better price anywhere else, either.
    (e.g. dabs.com - £69.99 +£3.99p&p - scan.co.uk £69.68 + £5.68p&p)

After having a counterfeit install, I would say it's best to do a clean install.
