I'm hoping to build an X99 Monster myself soon....Hoping to.
I may even start my own thread. For true enthusiasts only. An old long time enthusiasts last build. What should it be. But it has to be a true killer rig.

Sounds good to me. I want one that will last me the rest of my life. Because, I used to build about 8-10 rigs a year, just for the love of doing them. I think I have built 2 this year and every one has really been tough for me. It's getting harder and harder. That's why I have stayed with this rig for so long. I feel like I have 1 more good build in me. At least a major build, I want to build one for my Sister, but that wont be any major thing. But, if I can come up with the money, I want it to be a hum dinger. Kind of my going out party rig.
Me and my friend are going to be building a mutual friend an X99 based system later this year that is going to be an absolute beast. He does video and image rendering/editing and can actually utilize all this new stuff. Pretty much waiting for Windows 9 and it's a go.....all of the hardware is already available. Will post details, specs, and pics when the time comes. Very exited to say the least!
Go for it Steve. It will give you something to do and keep you off the street corner.
The reason I have been off the forum in the last week or so because I'm redoing my less than a year old system. I have been spending about 12 hours a day on this thing. It is costing me more than I planned on but their is no stopping in the middle. I'm going hard tube for the water cooling. It takes for ever moving things and measuring and moving things trying to line things up so their will be as few fittings I can get away with. I don't like builds when you can't see anything but fittings and elbows.
I got one of those hard tube bending kits. I should start on the bending in a couple of days. I do enjoy doing these kinds of things. It would be a lot more fun if I was using someone else's money.

I bet you are. That would be fun, especially when someone else is paying the bills. That would be fun.
Steve, rig building is a disease for which the only cure is building another rig. Heck, I haven't moved my present computer into its new case yet and I'm already making plans for the next case (near total homebrew; funny how both cases I modded were to be the case to end all cases). Even if it's just building a machine for someone else, I can't see you ever stopping building until you are pushing up daisies.
Hell I'm just doing a little remolding and I have already spent $1500.00 and I got another order going in tomorrow. Performance P.C.'s and Royal Business Supplies are on first name bases.
Money is useless when I'm dead so I will spend it on computers while I can.
I use to build race cars. Computer are much cheaper to build.
