I wasn't that mean about it...and I certainly didn't say that you sucked. It's just that you mentioned getting some custom work done and making case windows and it seems like you want want a beautiful work of art inside the case if you were going to show it off
My coworkers saw me build my machine in the office...as that is where I had all of the parts shipped. They kept checking back saying...I don't see that much progress. Probably took me about 2 hours or so to get everything wired in the way that I liked it. One guy said, won't it be swell if you turn it on and nothing happens and you have to tear it all back out to troubleshoot? I was like, Gulp....
At the end of the day, it often doesn't matter. As long as cooling isn't impaired and your PC performs well..that's what really counts. Plus, my case has no Windows or otherwise in it...so unless I invite somebody over and hold them down and force them to look in the PC...nobody will ever know that it's tidy inside.
I understand. I am almost OCD about looks. That's most of the reason I got a case with no window this time. I just could not get it looking the way I wanted it.
I don't mind the constructive criticism. It made me spend some time getting things tidied up. I see some of these pro systems and wonder how they do it....a lot of practice I guess.
I am getting some extensions btu I will wait for my new board and i5 (or i7) whatever is better when the i5s come out.
Anyway, we can still be friends. haha
@BFK - nice looking system there mate! I just love hardware and wish I could build custom computers all day. Even building inexpensive systems is fun. I love it and have done 4 or 5 now.
Thanks Nate. :)
That's the first machine I've built; I now have the PSU (Corsair 1000HX) and the case (Cosmos RC-1000) this is going to need some ventilation mods) for the i7 system I'm planning, like a lot of us, I too am waiting for the i7/i5 question to be answered. I wish I had the money to build these things all the time.
