Thanks guys.. I can't believe I'm still doing this one-handed though, I haven't needed to ask anybody for help (not yet anyway). Really enjoying this project.

My PC may not be as valuable or powerful as most of the rest around here, but I can still make it look cool.

Check out my rig above with a paltry 8gb of ram... lol ! Have a blast with your build and do send some pic's when it's done !
    Cheers, Alan
8gb of RAM is nothing to scoff about. In fact, most people with "only" 8gb of RAM actually have no need whatsoever for having it...other than it just seems more impressive or gives them a sense of future-proofing. RAM is just like anything else with a computer and people often want more, more, more and figure if they are upgrading it...they should just have more than they ever had before...so they invest in more. The do the same thing with CPU's, cooling, hard drive space, etc.

Do you honestly have anything in mind which would actually consume or require that much RAM? I've got handfuls of production servers at work, which are running multiple VM's to service an entire company that had 24GB of RAM or less. I often find that people greatly exaggerate their RAM needs or simply don't understand that more doesn't necessarily mean better.

i agree, and this is for a small part of the reason i upgraded my current rig in the first place, yet has nothing to do with my choice of buying 12 GB RAM

Like i said earlier, i`ll use it mostly for Music Production, where i`m used to working with 60 - 120 streams/intruments/samples at a time. Though this is mostly a strain on my HDD`s, my throughput is just not cutting it (i`m now on 4GB).

    so i had a choice...

buy that 12GB, now that you can afford it (while not needig it)
or buy 6GB and upgrade later (with the chance i couldnt afford it while needing it)

to put it in perspective, i started with a rig that had 1GB and within weeks i grew out of that

still, like i said, 24 GB was just to much, not only the price, but also 12 GB not needed (at least, for now)

At that stage, I'll be moving the two 120mm fans I had in the side panel to new locations, and adding two black dust filters (DEMCiflex Computer Dust Filters) to the intake fans. I also have another plan to hide certain components with black perspex, but I won't give away too much there, I'll keep that as a surprise for now..
    nice lookin rig man

nice and tidy, even on the inside, your giving me some idea`s (like the dust filters, never thougt of them)!

The back, as stated just above the pic:

Finally, a rear-view with the black back panel, the reflection makes it a bit difficult to see the drive bays (I was too lazy to take the side panel off again....):

Thanks! I'm not sure if the company I bought filters from will ship internationally, I don't see why they wouldn't... I'll let you guys know what sort of quality the filters are when they arrive, but I've heard many good things about DEMCiflex filters on other forums. (They even have a kit designed specifically for the HAF 932 case...)

For two black magnetic border and black filter mesh 120mm filters, including postage, it worked out to R95 (ZAR - South Africa); so once converted to pretty much any other currency it'll be dirt cheap... Excuse the pun.

Now I just need to get my cable sleeving sorted out, and mod my fan speed controller and I'll be done.. Well, for a little while anyway.

    Janno,
Please consider the Corsair H70 or H50 which is being discounted in lieu of the H70 hitting the market as well the Cool it Eco is a very sweet option. My H50 with two Ultra fans at 2000 rpm max is one quiet rig and with my fan controller I can squirrel it down to as low as 1000 rpm. I can almost guarantee that with your rig all done the temptation to OC just a little bit will be great and air just doesn't get it done, can't speak for static fins only but my gut tells me if a single or dual fan air cooler runs hot the chance of a pure fin radiator though quiet will run HOT! Enjoy all that ram and revisit your cooler choice and sell off the Nactura.
