    780Ti OCing

    whats up guys?

So i just got my new 780Ti finally. Im trying to OC it, but im having issues. after my GPU hits about 70C, it drops the voltage and clocks from 1.187 to 1.175 and this hinders my OC abilities a lot. i have temp target set to 82C and power limit set to 115% and neither are getting close to that! whats going on here? i noticed my last 780 Ti did that as well. Once i kick the fans up to 100% and temps drop below 68C, the voltage returns back to the 1.187.

You need a graphics program that will let you set a custom fan profile to keep the temps down. EVGA's Precision X is an excellent program and will let you do that and more. Kepler is set to throttle at 70C, and it throttles in steps. You have to keep the temps down to overclock it.

Paul didn't have the TI Version. He had the same card as me, not that it makes much difference.

No, my Asus card was faulty. The 2nd one. Would constantly crash my PC after about an hour of gaming. I called newegg up and got them to refund me. So I'm buying the EVGA 780ti classified. I should have it by the end of the week.

How much is the 780TI Classified you are getting? I had a look on Newegg and it's $590. In comparison a new EVGA GTX 980 SC is $570.

Is there a particular reason you want to go for the older last gen over the new cards?
