    Confuse about CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB)


    hi ... i just buy a new ram corsair xms3 4gb 2x2 gb ... izzit 4 gb or 2 gb ? i look at computer > properties it said only 2gb ? can anyone help me with this confusion ?

    Can you give your system specs, some Mobo doesn't support higher RAM.

    That properties page shows 4gb installed with 3gb usable which is probably to do with memory shared with your gfx device so its not available for the OS to use

    It is a total of 4GB of RAM in two 2GB modules. That is what (2 x 2GB) means.

    i have 2 gb kingston ram .. and other 1 is xms3 ram ... im confuse with te xms3 ram .. because it shows in the label said 4gb ram (2x2gb) ..

    xms 3 is just the model of the ram and I suspect the stick is one half of a set

    When purchased new it would have been a twin pack of ram sticks ie 2x2gb = 4gb, but now you have one half of that

    Xms = ddr
    xms 2 = ddr2
    xms 3 = ddr3
