    Just a note:
A long time ago I used ram coolers and found that they could vibrate the ram and it would loose a proper connection. I have never had a ram temp problem. I just installed the cooler for the looks.
With a lot of testing I found that if one has proper case cooling and quality heat sinks on the ram modules their isn't ram temp problems.

    Just something to watch for.

    An opinion:
Brian's and Tommy's ram looks to good to cover up with fans.

Does any of you folks use M.2 yet? Or something like this.

    Intel 750 Series HHHL (CEM2.0) 400GB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEDMW400G4R5 - Newegg.com

i would be inclined to purchase another samsung evo as the 500GB are at very good prices if you can't work with 500GB I don't know who can lol

I know you were didn't mean it to sound sarcastic

I was simply saying that for the money right now those aren't ideal when the SSD itself is going down M2 is nice but reading it gets very hot i don't think that is something i want to mess with for a while

M.2 ssd's aren't to bad in price for a new item. When more motherboards come out with that option the price should go down.
I didn't know the M.2 had a heat problem. That is why I ask questions.
PCIe ssd's get pricey in a hurry. Well pricey for me anyway.

Sorry I interrupted the thread with my question.

I just threw it on there because I paid $50 for it and it`s been in the desk drawer forever, there`s no way ram can work loose once it`s secured, sitting out like this the ram was getting warm at 2800, anything to add downward air to the board is an added bonus, LOL I even set up a SP 120 PWM fan to blow across the board while I`m testing

It's actually a good question because a lot of people are buying them up which makes normal ssd's drop

Kind of the same reason i got a second Videocard the price was right and with the prices coming down you will see more and more SSD's and a main C drive rather the traditional hhd spinner

AddRAM I mentioned the ram fan for a reason. Your ram very well might not have a problem with them.
I mentioned it because I did have that problem and it did take me awhile to figure it out.

    That is why I posted.
    Just something to watch for.
Thought the information might be helpful.
Of course you can do what is best for you.

You fan blowing on your motherboard and ram on your test bench is exactly what I meant by.

With a lot of testing I found that if one has proper case cooling and quality heat sinks on the ram modules their isn't ram temp problems.
All my systems have case fans blowing on the motherboard and ram.
I also thought that information might be helpful. That is what I get for sharing my thoughts.

Brian you and Tommy have some great new builds happening. My post on cooling were intended to be helpful coming from experiences I have had. You guys experiences could very well be different.

With the quality builds you two have I thought you all might of investigated M.2 or PCIe ssd's is the reason I mentioned it.
Should of kept my keyboard quiet on that subject.
I'm sorry I upset people during the happy times of new builds.

I will go back to watching.

    It's all good :)
M.2 yep still too pricy at the moment to consider
Look how ddr4 has dropped in price I believe mine dropped 75.us from just a few months ago
Still could fill the rest of my slots but probably not for a few months :/
