Help with Proprietary Motherboard (possibly)

Your best source of info is probably Dell's own forums.

At one time, Dell PCs did have certain proprietary components--typically power supplies and some of the front panel connectors if I recall correctly.

But I seem to recall that those proprietary issues are less common in recent years than they were say 10 years ago.

I assume you intend to carry over ALL of the Dell internal components, with the new case being the only new component.

My guess would be that the motherboard would mount properly.

I'm less certain about the power supply and the front panel connectors on the new case.

If I had to guess, I'd say you'll be OK as you are dealing with a 2010 machine---but that's just a guess.

Go to Dell forums and start a thread there, stating your exact model number and all pertinent details.

All you have to do is some custom wiring, very simple, but I wouldn`t use a Dell MB for a doorstop

Could you explain why you want to waste your time doing this ?
