Windows 7: Please help me narrow down some components for a new PC

Win-7-Pro64bit 7-H-Prem-64bit

Thanks for confirming Tommy
Every Intel processor I've looked at says no cooler included :/

It usually takes a little while for cpu coolers to actually state compatibility with the newest socket mother boards.

Mine did but I never used it. I still use a PC with a 2600k but built the PC using a Hyper 212+ cooler. In a Lancool case my temperatures have always been good even overclocking on hot days.
I used a Noctua NH-U12s in a later i5 4590 build and am happy with its performance in a Corsair CC300R case. This system runs cool and so quiet you can barley hear it.

My attitude has been if I needed a PC build now then bite the bullet and build it based on your constraints of performance requirements, cost and availability of parts. Sticking with good (& a bit more expensive) components like AUSUS motherboards and good quality PSUs is a good idea. Pick an Intel CPU that meets your needs.

My next build will probably be Kaby Lake and I'll think about components then because what's on offer will have changed.

Can't seem to narrow down this BSOD...
Hi, I recently (twice) reformatted my system to Win7 Ultimate x64 SP1, and had to move the tower from its old location. After doing so I had to use a USB wifi adapter instead of ethernet. Sometimes the system would suddenly bluescreen, even when I am doing some light YouTube viewing in...
