Windows 7: Should I overclock my CPU?

Reading your system specs.
You have a stock case, stock motherboard and stock fans.
I'm presuming that you also have stock cpu cooling.

None of these stock things warrants or will work with overclocking.

If your system runs hot with turbo mode enabled then you for sure have a cooling problem.
That cooling problem must be addressed before any thing else is done on or with your system.

70C is high. My old desktop shut off at 75. It seems to be the general consensus that you still have an overheating problem and therefore shouldn't overclock.

With your temperatures, I think overclocking would be a bad idea.

I'll leave you with this advice:

"Never overclock what you can't afford to replace."

Forget the overclocking. Fix the overheating. You want a race car, buy a race car.
