My Cheaper And Older Gaming PC!
Hi all,
Just wanted to show you one of my PC I have completed recently. Please let me know what you think of it. I have attached some pictures of it. Please note it is not the best looking, but I've done all I could with my own tools and hands. My friend's dad helped me cut the side of the case out, too! I bought the acrylic at lowes so dust wouldn't get in the case as fast. I am always open to future upgrades for this PC. And yes, I know my CPU is older along with the PC, but it's the best I can do now. My system specs have been updated below. The games I play run surprisingly well! I will definitly get a new pc in the next year or two, but for now I'd like to have fun with this one and upgrade it. Please tell me your thoughts and what should be upgraded to achieve maximum stability without lots of bottleneck though. OR any fun accessories to add to it! Thanks! ![]() |

Hi,
Is the memory maxed out at 8gb's ? For gaming it's always best to look into more recent gpu's with at least 4gb's Now that the gtx1080ti's are out you can find some really cheap gtx 980's and even some gtx1050 thru 1070's around :) Post a budget. My acer build in my system spec's is probably close to yours I did this for laughs use test you pc on the top right :) http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/796267 ![]() |

For GPU's I don't really want to spend more than $300 dollars. What 4gb GPU would you recommend? I think more than 4gb, my cpu will bottleneck it. |

Hi,
Well that is the great thing about new releases of gpu's the prior versions drop so you could take advantage of that in which ever budget you have ![]() These items came up Your sata connection could be the same as mine without sata 3 compatibility and only sata 2 ![]() The hdd well you might look into that a little closer basically switch to the black series hdd not the blue :/ Oops I see it is almost full. ![]() MSI has some good gpu's :) The 1050-60-70 are also good and low power units so your 600w psu wouldn't matter Some if not all of the 980's have 600w minimum requirements or at least the ones I've looked at. |

Hi,
At 7200 rpm's not much :) The issue I see now is it's just near full or at least what the test showed possibly you have some unallocated space on it ? |

Best, New GPU for my older gaming PC? (least bottle necking) Hi all, Down below, I have my pc specs on a computer that I have gotten recently. I have a gtx 960 at the moment, but would like to upgrade to a 10-series card if I can that would cause no bottleneck, or very little, with my i5-2400 CPU. I notice that on a game i often play call of duty: black... |

BSOD twice while gaming, once on desktop. Brand new build, some older Some older parts is what I meant to include in the title. Using option 1 in BSOD posting instructions, I've attached the requested file. This is a new build. Almost a week old though it uses some older parts from a previous build, RAM and storage to be specific, and in that time I've had... |

Off topic, but--why the 950 is cheaper than the 940??? I figure I can get a good answer here. I received a bonus at work, and want to build a new puter based on the i7 chipset. I just wonder why the 950 is cheaper than the 940??? All specs are the same except the chip speed. I mean a big difference in price. Oh I will be using Win 7 for sure.... |
