Install another ATX PSu smaller power
Hello guys,
The PSU of Fujitsu workstation failed. The PSu was 700 W and a bit unusual dimensions. I have another PSU classical ATX, but 500W power and think it would be suitable because I cannot imagine what draws power, because there is only one SATA HDD and Intel Xeon W3520 CPU.
The motherboard is D2778 and as can be seen in the manual there are two connectors, standard 24 pin for Mobo supply and a bit unusual 8 pin connector for the CPU and Nvidia graphics card 1 GB RAM. This new PSU doesn't have this 8 pin connector, but it has two 4 pins connects that can fit. I know this is OK, because voltage pins come to right places.
Now the part that worries me is that 700 W, because it is written in the manual also. All power together on the mobo devices is far less than 500W, so it should work.
Is there something I need to pay attention to before switching ON?
Thank you!
